Morgue
species: bat
age: 20-something
Meet Morgue, the undead bat. There are several signs that shows that he is undead. First is his name. A morgue is a place where dead bodies go to be prepared for burial. Two, he has no organs. They were removed during an autopsy. He also displays the Y-shaped autopsy scar on his chest. Third, during said autopsy, Morgue suddenly woke up, freaked out the coroner, freaked himself out, then walked out the door, not before confiscating a pack of cigarettes from the security guard.
Unlike most undead, Morgue does not rot. He also has the ability to heal, which explains the scarring from his autopsy. You could say that he is a vampire, but he really isn't, for he does not drink blood to survive. He doesn't eat or drink, period. He can't even if he wanted to, because he has no digestive system. The only thing they didn't remove from him are his lungs. He cannot breath--hasn't found the need to--so he smokes all he wants. So much that it'd be unhealthy for a living person.
Currently he is Kurtis' roommate, although, like Kurtis, he doesn't do much besides sitting in front of the tube and watching reruns of CSI.
His cause of death is still unknown. The coroner went into shock shortly after Morgue's awakening, and is currently being held in the psychiatric ward.
origin: Morgue's creation came about while I was at, well, the morgue. During my third year of high school I went on a field trip to the local morgue for my Human Physiology class. Prodding skinless bodies and playing catch with real human organs was somewhat inspiring. That same day I sketched out a picture of an anthropomorphosized bat and named him Morgue. I don't know where the smoking came from, it just happened to go with the character.
